Charleston has some notoriously difficult to shoot ceremony locations: churches with strict rules and bad lighting, parks with mottled sun that makes getting flattering light nearly impossible, and Legare Waring House in November – where It gets dark. Fast. Ceremonies can only begin after Charles Towne Landing, the park surrounding Legare Waring, closes, which happens to be at 5pm. This is all well and good in the summer, but in November when the sun sets at 5:15 it can become a bit of an issue if you’re not prepared. Luckily for us though, the fantastic planning by Janet from JVM Events and some new fast lenses it made the fading light a non-issue. Katie and Ben’s wedding proves beyond a shadow of a doubt (pun intended) that having a great planner and a great team at the center of your day can make any potential problem work for your wedding.
I’m really excited to share this one with everyone! Katie and Ben were honestly some of the most genuine and kind people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting – and their wedding was absolutely fabulous. Best of luck to both of you!
